The Fondazione Massimo e Sonia Cirulli participates in the exhibition Intrecci del Novecento. Arazzi e tappeti di artisti e manifatture italiane with the loan of tapestries by Giacomo Balla, Fortunato Depero, and Marcello Nizzoli. The exhibition, organized by Galleria Moshe Tabibnia at Milan’s Triennial, represents an opportunity to gather a remarkable nucleus of tapestries and carpets created by some of the most important Futurist artists, as well as textile artifacts made for Monza’s Biennials and Milan’s Triennial expos.

The project of the exhibition stems from the desire to draw an accurate profile of the history of textile arts over the course of the Novecento. The Italian textile industry has played an important role during the 20th century, not only for its high quality and technical development, but also for its artistic value, which frequently made it a competitor with the so-called fine arts: among others, with painting.
