Conversation with the author | Munari Para-Post Futurista

The Conversazioni con l’autore talk series continues, allowing us to explore in detail the themes and  protagonists of UNIVERSO FUTURISTA.
The subject of this event will be Bruno Munari: taking cue from the works in the show and from Munari’s collaboration with Futurism, the conversation will expand to cover the rich complexity of his entire oeuvre.

The speakers include Pierpaolo Antonello (University of Cambridge, UK), author of the essay on the Orbita Munari, Guido Bartorelli (Università di Padova), and Luca Zaffarano, independent scholar and Italian art collector. 

On the occasion of the talk, the Fondazione will feature extended opening hours from 5 to 9pm, in order for guests to visit the exhibition.

Pierpaolo Antonello teaches contemporary Italian literature and culture at the University of Cambridge, with a range of interests which include Italian cinema, intellectual history, and visual art. He published several essays on Futurism and on Bruno Munari. More recently he co-edited, with Matilde Nardelli and Margherita Zanoletti, a volume titled Bruno Munari: The Lightness of Art (Oxford, Peter Lang, 2017). He is member of the advisory board of Fondazione Cirulli.

Guido Bartorelli teaches contemporary art history at Università di Padova. He published several volumes on historical avant-gardes such as Numeri innamorati. Sintesi e dinamiche del Secondo Futurismo (Torino, 2001) and Fernand Léger cubista 1909-1914 (Padova, 20112). His interests in artist films and videos are the core of the volume  titled Studi sull’immagine in movimento. Dalle avanguardie a YouTube(Padova, 20172). To modernity, he dedicated several exhibitions such as ArtBeat. Arte Narrativa Videoclip (with Fabriano Fabbri, Bologna-Milano-Roma, 1999-2000) and Art//Tube. L’arte alla prova della creatività amatoriale (Padova, 2010). For Fondazione Palazzo Pretorio in Cittadella he curated the exhibitions Alberto Biasi: gli ambienti (2016) and Bruno Munari: aria | terra (2017), Sirio Luginbühl: film sperimentali (with Lisa Parolo, 2018).

Luca Zaffarano is an Italian art scholar and collector, and author of a documental project dedicated to Bruno Munari’s art, accessible on http://www.munart.org. In 2012 he designed the retrospective “Bruno Munari. My Futurist Past” at the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art in London. In 2018 he curated the exhibition Bruno Munari. Creatore di Forme at Galleria 10 A.M. in Milan  and collaborated  to the exhibition Bruno Munari. The Man Who Made the Useless Machine at Setagaya Museum in Tokyo , as a consultant and author of an essay.
