L’Arte della Pubblicità
The exhibition The Art of Advertising consists of 200 works by over 60 Italian artists. It illustrates the evolution of advertising art through the graphic design experimentation of the outstanding Italian artists of the interwar years: Marcello Dudovich, Leonetto Cappiello, Diulgheroff, Gino Boccasile, the futurists Giacomo Balla, Fortunato Depero, Tato and Enrico Prampolini, Mario Sironi, Adolfo Wildt, Cambellotti, Erberto Carboni, Lucio Fontana and Bruno Munari.
In addition to its core of original posters, the exhibition presents a selection of sculptures, sketches, original books and journals that underline the interdisciplinary nature of art and illustrate the birth and development of Italian industry such as La Rinascente, Fiat, Campari, Olivetti, thanks to theiri strong investment in advertising and communication.
The exhibition is divided into five distinct areas that intersect the themes of industrialization, the rise of fascism, and the birth of modern Italy new myths like flight and speed.
